Samburu County Governor H.E. Lati Lelelit today attended the second day of the Maralal International Camel Derby 2026, an iconic event that showcases Samburu’s rich cultural heritage, traditions, and tourism potential.
The annual event brings together local communities, visitors, and international guests to celebrate cultural diversity, promote tourism, and create opportunities for local businesses and the hospitality industry.
The Governor was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Hon. Rebecca Miano; Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage, Hon. Hanna Wendot Cheptumo; county government officials; and other distinguished dignitaries.
The Maralal International Camel Derby continues to place Samburu County on the international tourism map while celebrating the cultural identity and traditions of its people.
