The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has officially approved the Konza National Drone Corridor, making it the country’s first controlled airspace reserved exclusively for drone operations.

Announced on Wednesday, July 9, by the Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA), the newly designated corridor is designed to enable safe and secure long-distance drone flights. The initiative is seen as a major boost for Kenya’s aviation industry and a significant step toward advancing the use of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
KoTDA also revealed that the corridor will serve as a hub for testing and training, offering a dedicated space for institutions and innovators working on drone technologies across Kenya.
